Alayna Marie

I got to hold an angel yesterday. Her name was Alayna Marie and she was one of the prettiest babies I had ever seen. She had a tiny button nose and perfect lips. I think she was a mini version of her mama. Her fingers were long and graceful and soft. She had the most peaceful look on her face and the moment I saw her I loved her.
She is in God's arms today. He is holding her tightly while the angels sing to her. She is happy and surrounded with more love than we could ever imagine. Her cousin Peyton is there too and he is holding her beautiful hands smiling at her. Together they will never again have to know pain or hurt or fear, for Heaven is a place of pure love and joy. It knows no sadness.
Her family aches for her. They are empty inside and wanting so badly for her to be here with them. The pain is almost unbearable but God is calling out. He wants us to turn to Him. He is the comforter, a shelter in the time of storm, and a refuge. He will be there in the valleys of life if we ask him to.

Lord help me today to trust that you have a reason for everything. Be with my sister and her husband as they mourn the death of their little girl. Bring them the comfort that only you can bring and the peace that passes all understanding. Draw them close to you and may they feel the love you have for them. Thank you for all that you are. Thank you for your son Jesus and for what he did for us all on the cross. I love you and I need you not only today, but everyday. Thank you for being my rock.
