More Laundry Savings

In my constant quest as a stay at home mom to find ways to be more frugal I came across another way to save in the laundry department. I learned today that on average it cost $.70 to dry one load of clothes. Our family typically washes and dries 2 loads of laundry a day. That is an average cost of $504.00 a year. Yikes! I found some great ways to make indoor clothes line for the basement. I also read about a family that just hangs all of their clothing up straight from the washer and lets it air dry in the closet. These sounded like good ideas to me, but I love the soft feeling a dryer gives to clothes and towels I don't really care for the crispy line dry feeling at all! But good news people, supposedly adding a 1/2 cup of white vinegar to your laundry load just as you would fabric softener gives your clothes the soft feeling regardless of how you dry. I will definitely be giving this a try! I love finding ways to save money....it makes me say ahhhh.

So I think you should have titled it "Moore Laundry Savings" hehe You'll have to let us know about the smell factor...vinegar is some strong stuff, does is wash completely out?

Very funny Sarah! I like a girl with a sence of humor! The article I read claims that the smell factor is not an issue because they use distilled vinegar, which appartently isn't as stank. Hopefully the next time you see me you won't have to run away because of my smell.
